Letter typed and signed by Rudyard Kipling
Letter typed onto Batemans paper.
Sent to a Mr Cockburn (unknown but possibly a local farmer), concerning a spoken or written statement of Rudyard Kipling's.
Kipling states the purpose of his remarks was to "make people understand a little bit of the price paid by the man who has gone through that mill". Kipling goes on to say "it makes me rather sick to have the post-war lot talking about their symptoms and emotions all the time, as if they know what Hell was".
